Both large-volume and short-run copy/print jobs finish with amazing speed,

simplicity, and superb image quality.

Super-Efficient Colour and B/W Output

The tandem printing engine with four in-line

drums helps the AR-C172M deliver a fast

output of 17 cpm/ppm in full colour and 26

cpm/ppm in B/W. And the first copy comes out in just 11.7

seconds in full colour and 8.0 seconds in B/W. But speed is just

one of the benefits of tandem printing; its short, straight paper

path minimises misfeeds to save you paper and toner costs.

Convenient RSPF

With the standard-equipped RSPF

(reversing single pass feeder), the

AR-C172M can automatically feed

in a stack of up to 40 single- or

two-sided originals (A4 or smaller),

eliminating the tedious task of

placing and turning over each page by hand.

Duplex Copying/Printing

The AR-C172M can make two-sided copies

and printouts when equipped with the

optional duplex module and duplex

bypass/inverter unit, effectively reducing

paper costs as well as saving filing space.

Auto duplexing is available for paper weights

up to 200 g/m

. This allows you, for example,

to create impressive company brochures and

business proposals by using thick paper for the cover.

Automated Job Finishing

The AR-C172M makes it easy to create

professional-looking booklets. Working

together with the highly productive

stackless duplex module, the optional

Saddle Stitch Finisher folds and staples

sets of documents to make completed

booklets. A Punch Module allows you to

punch holes in documents for easy filing.

Large Paper Capacity

For high-volume work, the

AR-C172M can accommodate

an optional 3,500-sheet large-

capacity tray and stand with 3 x

500-sheet paper drawers for a

total capacity of 5,750 sheets,

helping to minimise the risk of running out of paper in the middle

of a printing job.

Productive Collated Output from Memory

For efficient copying, the AR-C172M’s Scan Once/Print Many and

electronic sorting functions save each page of a multi-page

original to internal memory. Then the AR-C172M automatically

outputs collated job sets in proper page order, with each set

offset stacked for easier retrieval.

Superb Image Quality

The AR-C172M’s high 600-dpi scan/print resolution

ensures that the details of your original document come

out clear and legible. Employing a write head with

Sharp’s original 4-bit image processing LED, the AR-C172M

achieves superb colour fidelity equivalent to 256 gradations per

CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) colour, using the dither

matrix process. You get beautiful printouts and copies with

impressive colour detail.

Note: 1-bit only when copying with the electronic sorting function. Printing

requires optional memory.

New Oil-Less Toner

Sharp’s newly developed oil-less

toner produces vivid, natural-

looking colour documents

without leaving a glossy coating

on the paper’s surface. You can

easily write messages or paste

sticky notes on copies and printouts even if they contain many

colour photos.
