AR-M160/AR-M205

In the work environment, more and more

documents are being distributed electronically

to save time and improve the dissemination of

information. Thanks to the integral full colour

scanner on the AR-M160/AR-M205, it is

possible to scan your documents and forward

them to your desktop PC at 600x1200dpi

in full colour. Once received you are then able

to redirect scanned images to an FTP site for

other users to access or distribute via e-mail.

Now there is no need for a separate stand

alone scanner as well as a copier and

printer……it’s an all-in-one device.

Sharp’s own document management

software, Sharpdesk™, comes packaged with

the AR-M160/AR-M205. This software allows

you to scan full colour documents and send

them directly to your desktop PC. With

Sharpdesk you are then able to browse,

sort and file documents. It also allows you to

easily create and distribute complete reports,

proposals and more, utilising a simple drag

and drop operation.

Sharp Printer Administration Utility and

Sharp Monitor software which are included

with the PCL printer board do just this.

Whether you are a Network Administrator

or a user, these software utilities enable you

to interrogate the device across the network

and assess the status of the device before

you send a print job. Sharp Monitor lets you

know if the machine is online or offline and

even the amount of paper remaining

in the cassettes.

E-mail Status and Alert

Sharp’s unique e-mail status and alert utility,

which is available with the optional AR-NB2,

further improves the level of feedback you

are able to get from the AR-M160/AR-M205

and can actually pre-empt minor problems.

For example, an e-mail is automatically sent

to a key operator advising that the toner

may be low allowing them to replace this

item in advance, that service may be

required in the near future or that the

paper supply is depleted.

MANAGEMENT

With the PCL printer board installed it is even

possible to scan and distribute full colour files

to anyone on a network*. This option even

comes with a three user Sharpdesk licence

which can be upgraded for even more

network users to have access to the

functionality of this software utility.

Job Status and Monitoring

The AR-M160/AR-M205 should be at the

heart of your business. As such, if your device

is not directly in line of sight it is imperative

that you should be able to assess the status

of the AR-M160/AR-M205 at any given time.
